Tasks

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Using relevant computer-based engineering programs such as Solid Works & AutoCAD for…
    • Drawing customer prints.
    • Draw internal process prints for cold forming, thread rolling and other internal operations.
    • Designing gages for use in production.
    • Modifications to the plant layout for adding or moving machinery.
  • Read, generate and maintain specific, customer blueprint for customers.
  • Utilize Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) on prints.
  • Troubleshoot problems.
  • Use core tools to address product launch and customer concern issues (8D, FMEA, CP, VSM).
  • Work with Sales and Production on new and existing parts.
  • Complete Process Change Requests.
  • Understand SAP master data in order to create and maintain materials.
  • Assist in the insourcing of new processes or products.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interdepartmental contact on all new and pre-existing jobs and tooling.
  • Be a contributing member to cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Profile

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering or Drafting, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the fastener industry is preferred.
  • Physically able to lift 30 pounds.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Computer skills, specifically with CAD software and Excel, necessary, SAP preferred.
  • Knowledge and use of precision measurement equipment required.
  • Individual must be very thorough and accurate.
